 Zsa Zsa Gabor’s eighth husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, has announced at least part of his plan to save California from bankruptcy if he is elected governor: Legalize marijuana, prostitution and Cuban cigars — and tax them to the hilt.
Prince Frederic (65) flew to Sacramento on Wednesday to file his candidate papers, according to an Associated Press report. He is running as an Independent. His opponents are Republicans Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner and the presumed Democratic candidate, Attorney General Jerry Brown.
Considering the economic mess incumbent Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will leave in the state — and Brown left behind as mayor of Oakland — the Independent party could fare well in an election.

In recent years the seat as Governor of California has often drawn the interest of unusual celebrities, but the most recent may be the most unusual of all. Prince Frederic von Anhalt, who is the flamboyant husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor, has officially entered the race for Governor of California. Von Anhalt flew to Sacramento on Wednesday to officially file the required candidacy paperwork.
The 65 year old Von Anhalt is a notorious socilate and the 8th husband of Gabor. His political campaign seems rather unimportant and possibly self serving as his campaign is hoping to legalize both prostitution and marijuana as well as lift any import ban on Cuban cigars.
Von Anhalt said that his main motivation for running for the Governorâs seat was seeing all the mistakes that were made by current Governor and former actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Von Anhalt was passionate in saying that Schwarzenegger let down the people of California.

His attorney is said to have filed papers at the California Secretary of State Office in Sacramento today. If this proves to be true, he will be the only independent candidate running for governor in California. His slogan is ‘Return the Good Life to California’ (not bad). His platform includes: lifting the import ban on an d taxing Cuban cigars, reduction of vehicle-registration fees, making ‘bad drivers’ pay more taxes to make up for lost revenue on the vehicle-registration fees. He proposes to reduce California’s $20 billion deficit through a ’sin tax’ on alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, marijuana and prostitution (which he proposes to legalize and tax). He proposes to repeal the ban on gay marriage saying, ‘Let them be as miserable as the rest of us’.

Prince Frederic von Anhalt, Zsa Zsa Gabor’s eighth husband, is expected to officially file papers to run for Governor today, according to KPCC. Once completed, expect to start seeing his “Return the Good Life to California” campaign that includes a variety of ways to solving the state’s budget woes.
Most notably, von Anhalt wants to have a “sin tax,” which would add more taxes to alcohol and cigarettes, but also prostitution and marijuana, which he would work to legalize. “Marijuana is a big industry already,” he told the radio station. “Let’s legalize it, tax it, make some money and put less people in jail.” An initiative to legalize and tax marijuana is already expected to be on November’s ballot. Cuban cigars would become legal and taxable, under his plan.
