Sacramento Adult Entertainment: Real Estate Executive Under Investigation: Report

Filed under: Sacramento adult entertainment — mrparty @ 12:36 pm and

The man behind Lyon Real Estate, one of the state’s top real estate agencies, is being investigated by Sacramento County law enforcement in connection with allegations the business executive made secret video recordings of houseguests and others in bedrooms and bathrooms, according to a published report.
The Sacramento Bee reports Michael Lyon, 54, chief executive officer of Lyon Real Estate , was investigated by the FBI until last week when the agency closed the investigation without pressing federal charges. Sacramento officials decided to move forward with their own investigation, officials from the District Attorney’s office and the Sheriff’s Department told the Bee.
Allegations of inappropriate behavior surfaced during the bitter divorce between Lyon and his wife of 23 years, Kimarie Lyon, according to a television report.
The NBC station in Sacramento, KCRA, reports family court records mention prostitution, marijuana and filming minor children in varying states of nudity.

Former Home of Sacramento Serial Killer Sold at Auction
The former home of notorious Sacramento serial killer (and onetime brothel owner) Dorothea Puente, behind which Puente buried seven of her victims, sold for $215,000 this past weekend at auction. Bay Area natives and longtime residents may recall the story of Puente, who ran a boarding house at the 1426 F Street property for elderly tenants.
Puente was convicted in 1988 of drugging and murdering three of her tenants.
New owner Tom Williams, a fan of mystery novels, says he finds the 16-bedroom house’s past “interesting,” and says “It’s like creepy in a good way to me.” [NBC Bay Area]

Sacramento Adult Entertainment: The suns of August on immigration

Filed under: Sacramento adult entertainment — mrparty @ 12:36 pm and

European immigration to the new world picked up after the wars in Europe in 1820. American immigration laws banned Africans (until 1870) and most East and South Asians (until 1952). Banned in other countries, we were open to Catholics and Jews (Iberians, Middle Easterners and Northern Africans were not white). Ellis Island opened in 1892.
The Supreme Court decided that the federal government had sole control over immigration in 1875. Europeans were welcomed with open arms; the same could not be said for many others. In 1875, Congress banned Chinese immigrant workers, Asian women (might become prostitutes), and convicts (Brits sent their inmates to Australia). A decade-long Chinese Exclusion Act became law in 1882, becoming permanent in 1904. Newly acquired colonial Filipinos in the pages of the New York Times (which included the Guam in the national imagination), in the social Darwinism of the time, were depicted as monkeys swinging on tropical vines.

Sacramento Strip Clubs: Mother of three brings ‘family-based’ pole dancing to Antioch

Filed under: Sacramento strip clubs — porsche @ 2:36 am and

A nightclub activity long considered the domain of strippers, pole dancing for fitness has begun nudging its way into the mainstream. Oprah Winfrey endorsed the striptease-style workout in 2003, and many gyms now include it in their regular slate of classes.
Hicks, a former gymnast, encountered the craze a little more than a year ago at a San Francisco bachelorette party. She practiced for the next few weeks, and except for a few hiccups, such as the time her cheap plastic pole broke and sent her flying into a living-room wall, easily mastered the aerial acrobatics.

While pole dancing may be losing its sensual undertones as it develops into a sport (supporters are petitioning to get it into the 2012 Olympics as a test event), some of the moves still recall stripper routines.

Sacramento Adult Entertainment: Granite Bay missionaries fight child sex trade in Cambodia

Filed under: Sacramento adult entertainment — mrparty @ 8:36 pm and

Adults living in Svay Pak wait inside Rahab House for medical attention from missionaries who have come to Cambodia from Bayside Church of Granite Bay, CA.
Once a brothel, Rahab House was converted to a free medical clinic, school, church and kid’s club by the Don and Bridget Brewster of Rocklin, CA in May, 2010. Bryan Patrick | The Sacramento Bee

Chang Thy Mean, 24, a former prostitute, graduated from the Agape Restoration Center and is now a tailor. At 15 she sold herself in Svay Pak because her income selling cakes on the steets of Phnom Penh was not enough to put food on the table. “I felt my life had no value, I never thought about my future” she says. Agape taught her how to be a tailor and how to dream. She now earns $70 a month as a tailor, “I’m happy now.”
