The union wants the judge to overturn a decision allowing the league to keep the $4 billion in rights fees from the networks in case there is a lockout. The union says the NFL unfairly negotiated the TV contracts to use the money as leverage in labor talks. The league says it acted in good faith.
Bengals’ Jones gets probation for role in ’07 strip club melee
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was sentenced Thursday to probation and 200 hours of community service under a plea deal for his role in a 2007 strip club melee in Las Vegas.
A Clark County courts spokeswoman said Jones received a suspended sentence and was also ordered to receive anger management counseling. The sentence requires Jones to undergo random drug testing.
The shooting during the NBA’s All-Star weekend left a Minxx strip club employee paralyzed and two others wounded. Police have said Jones instigated the brawl by throwing wads of dollar bills from a large plastic bag onto a stage, then becoming angry when the strippers picked up the cash.

Churches join forces for benefit concert
Proceeds from show will help juveniles rescued from prostitution
Two local churches are teaming up to host a benefit concert for an organization that helps juveniles who have been rescued from prostitution.

Dupre said a Sacramento task force made up of two FBI agents and several investigators from Sacramento law enforcement agencies have recovered 200 young victims of prostitution since the task force began in October 2006.

“We have 50 acres and a home for six girls to start. Our goal is to build cottages to accommodate more girls,” Williamson said. “There is a huge need for a safe home for children who have been rescued from a life of prostitution. We will have a clinical psychologist who specializes in trauma. We have horses for an equine therapy program. We have an art studio. These victims have huge lapses in education, so we have a school.”

Sacramento Adult Entertainment: Vollmann goes deep into tent city

Filed under: Sacramento adult entertainment — mrparty @ 7:36 am and

By Cosmo Garvin and Alastair Bland
Last week, county officials again began mass evictions of homeless campers along the American River. The Sacramento Bee was there with its “let’s have a big ol’ community dialogue” juggernaut of coverage, with multiple writers and editors hitting lots of angles.
But for depth, we turned this week to Harper’s Magazine, and to Sacramento’s William T. Vollmann, whose 18-page report “Homeless in Sacramento” provides the most definitive look yet at the local Safe Ground movement and the long tradition of tent cities and Hoovervilles in the river city.
Vollmann is a novelist and short-story writer, and a winner of the National Book Award. As a journalist, he has always paid attention to the poor, to prostitutes and hobos and the people on the margins.

Sacramento Strip Clubs: Complexgeometries Fall Winter 2011 – 2012

Filed under: Sacramento strip clubs — porsche @ 4:24 am and

Complexgeometries held their fall winter 2011 – 2012 presentation at The Westside Gentlemen’s Club. That’s right, a strip bar. Designer Clayton Evans had colour and collaborations on the mind for the season. It’s a surprisingly colourful fall winter 2011 – 2012 collection for Complexgeometries and I’m not complaining. The textile evolution of the line into fabrics other than jersey is progressing with charmeuse, silk, mohair, suede and wool.
Collaborations came in the form of jewellery and shoes. Complexgeometries partnered with fellow Montreal designer, Mireille Boucher of Harakiri.
See the Complexgeometries fall winter 2011 – 2012 presentation video by Jason Last.
The towering platform boots came out of the minds of LD Tuttle and Complexgeometries. Clayton tells me they are 9 inches high. I’m simultaneously scared and salivating. It’s an extra 9 inches of height. Who the hell knows what I’ll use it for but I want it. I’d probably scare small children and some men. Do these qualify as Manrepller shoes? Ha Ha.  Thankfully there are some more reasonable short boots available in the collaboration too.  Yes, Chasse Gardee will carry the collaboration.  It’s the first question I asked.

Sacramento Strip Clubs: Thousands of bills are introduced by lawmakers

n Sen. Alex Padilla wants to outlaw the sale of caffeinated beer beverages such as Four Loko, Joose and Tilt in California. Padilla, D-Los Angeles, says the drinks are popular with youths, and the caffeine masks the effects of the high alcohol content. California would join Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Utah and Washington in banning the drinks under SB39. Many of the companies have reformulated their products after criticism in recent months.
n Welfare recipients would be barred from using their Electronic Benefit Transfer cards to buy alcohol or tobacco under a bill by Senate Minority Leader Bob Dutton, R-Rancho Cucamonga. His SB417 responds to reports that the cards also were used to withdraw money at casinos, strip clubs and cruise ships. Recipients are prohibited from buying alcohol and tobacco with food stamp money, but there is no ban on using CalWORKS funds for the products.

Sacramento Strip Clubs: Hunting down Grizzlies, 10 years later

Filed under: Sacramento strip clubs — porsche @ 11:36 pm and

Now, we know where some of those ex-Grizzlies are. A handful are still prominent in the game â Mike Bibby as a point guard in Atlanta, Shareef Abdur-Rahim as the assistant general manager in Sacramento and Byron Scott as the poor sap charged with trying to coach the LeBron-less, hapless Cleveland Cavaliers.
And Michael Dickerson, one of the few players to fall in love with the city â he currently splits time between Vancouver and Seattle â has been a fixture at UBC Thunderbirds practices most of this season.
Some guys probably donât want to be found. Benoit Benjamin, who owes half a million in child support, and counter-culture non-conformist Cherokee Parks, who probably spent more of his free time in Vancouver with local strippers than he did with teammates, spring to mind.

Sacramento Massage Parlors: Auburn Police, FBI vigilant in war against child sex-trafficking

Filed under: Sacramento massage parlors — happyending @ 7:12 am and

Harris said that after learning more about human trafficking at a multi-agency seminar last month in Sacramento, she’ll be pushing herself and police staff on the best ways of investigating the crime, understanding how to move forward on an arrest and prosecution, and pinpointing available resources in the community to provide the proper level of support so that the victim doesn’t re-engage in the same activity.
Shelton said that wherever prostitution has established itself, child prostitution will follow. She points to the My Redbook Website as an example of how prostitution is thinly disguised and ads for “dates” in women seeking men sections are come-ons for paid sexual encounters.
The site has listings for a variety of communities, including Sacramento.
“They’ll not say anything outright,” she said. “Instead of $300 for an hour, they’ll say 300 roses.”
The sites have listings for massage parlors and strip clubs as well as apparent prostitution. Customers can even rate services.

Sacramento Escorts: Can Sac Sheriff Do Anything About the Gang Problem?

Filed under: Sacramento escorts — escortingsacramento @ 4:00 am and

… That shooting happened barely 10 months after budget cuts disbanded a unit of more than 20 deputies dedicated largely to apartment complex’s and gang violence.  ”Violent crime continues to be rampant throughout the county,” Jason Ramos, a member of the gang unit for more than 6 years, says crime spiked almost immediately.  “The criminal element knew that there were less cops on the street, knew that it meant increased response time.  And individuals who were being released from the jail openly made very bold statements about the fact that crime was going to increase.”
Video Games and Pop Culture continue to glamorize gangs.  Jimmy Siackasorn was convicted of killing a sheriff’s deputy in 2007; he was only 16.  Sheriff Jones wants to focus on those young recruits, ”The prevention side of it, engaging in young people’s lives before they have the opportunity to make horrendously bad decisions.”
Stimulus money from the President helped crack down on teenage prostitution in N …
