Six women from around Solano and Sacramento counties and Reno were arrested on suspicion of prostitution Tuesday in a sting operation conducted by the Vacaville Police Department’s Investigative Services Section.

Authorities went on to say that the goal of the operation and others like it is to deter criminal activity and other behaviors that jeopardize public safety. Prostitution, police said, is directly associated with other crimes, such as home invasion robbery, burglary, theft, assault and sometimes murder. Vacaville police began a focused crackdown on prostitution last fall, resulting in dozens of arrests during the past year.
The women in the latest sting were booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of prostitution and escorting in Vacaville without a license, police said.

Sacramento officials decided to move forward with their own investigation, officials from the District Attorney’s office and the Sheriff’s Department told the Bee.
Allegations of inappropriate behavior surfaced during the bitter divorce between Lyon and his wife of 23 years, Kimarie Lyon, according to a television report.
The NBC station in Sacramento, KCRA, reports family court records mention prostitution, marijuana and filming minor children in varying states of nudity.
