Sacramento Massage Parlors: Feds Arrest Two In East Bay Law Enforcement Scandal

Filed under: Sacramento massage parlors — happyending @ 5:24 pm and

The indictment alleges that Wielsch, who was working as the commander of the state-run Central Contra Costa County Narcotic Enforcement Team, known as CNET, stole methamphetamine and marijuana from county evidence lockers and, working with Butler, a private investigator and former Antioch police officer, sold them back out onto the streets.
The two men are also charged with committing a phony sting operation in which they falsely detained a person, conducted searches without warrants and seized drugs from him while pretending to be conducting a legitimate law enforcement operation.
The indictment also alleges that Butler opened a massage parlor in Pleasant Hill where prostitution was occurring. Butler allegedly required the prostitutes to pay him a weekly fee, which he allegedly shared with Wielsch, in exchange for Wielsch providing them protection from law enforcement.

Sacramento Massage Parlors: Former Drug Cop, Private Eye Indicted by Federal Grand Jury

Filed under: Sacramento massage parlors — happyending @ 3:48 am and

Former Contra Costa County Narcotics Enforcement Cmdr. Norman Wielsch and ex-private investigator Christopher Butler stand accused of 17 felonies. The duo, who had been free on bail on previous charges in the case, were re-arrested by FBI agents and locked up without bail as the indictment was handed down in a federal court in San Francisco.
The indictment accuses Wielsh and Butler, both 50, of working together to steal methamphetamine and marijuana from police evidence lockers and selling it back on the street.
The amount of drugs they’re accused of stealing is enough to land them in federal prison for a decade, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The two also pimped out sex workers at a Pleasant Hill massage parlor, the charges say. They are accused of demanding weekly payments from the women in exchange for protection, according to the indictment.

Sacramento Massage Parlors: Agape International Missions Hosts Local Premiere of Nefarious, Merchant of …

The United Nations estimates human trafficking occurs in 161 countries, involving about 2 million children in the commercial sex trade. U.S. officials say human trafficking is the fastest-growing illegal industry and second largest, behind only drugs – and generates $32 billion annually, more than Major League Baseball, National Football League and National Basketball Association, combined.
Nefarious, Merchant of Souls details the sex-trafficking industry, from the illegal recruitment efforts to the victims who escape the grip of modern-day slavery.
“Each and every girl’s story is valuable, as real lives were ruined – and often taken – by the lust and greed of wicked men,” said Nolot, who became interested in the often-overlooked topic when he and his wife learned about the illegal industry from a friend in February 2007. Several months later, an Exodus Cry team took a trip to Southeast Asia to learn more about the world of sex slavery.
“We visited dingy karaoke bars, remote villages, massage parlors and high-end beach destinations finding one steady consistency – the exploitation of young women,” Nolot said.

Sacramento Massage Parlors: Auburn Police, FBI vigilant in war against child sex-trafficking

Harris said that after learning more about human trafficking at a multi-agency seminar last month in Sacramento, she’ll be pushing herself and police staff on the best ways of investigating the crime, understanding how to move forward on an arrest and prosecution, and pinpointing available resources in the community to provide the proper level of support so that the victim doesn’t re-engage in the same activity.
Shelton said that wherever prostitution has established itself, child prostitution will follow. She points to the My Redbook Website as an example of how prostitution is thinly disguised and ads for “dates” in women seeking men sections are come-ons for paid sexual encounters.
The site has listings for a variety of communities, including Sacramento.
“They’ll not say anything outright,” she said. “Instead of $300 for an hour, they’ll say 300 roses.”
The sites have listings for massage parlors and strip clubs as well as apparent prostitution. Customers can even rate services.

Sacramento Massage Parlors: Ask Office Michelle – Cutbacks in prostitution enforcement causing painful …

Filed under: Sacramento massage parlors — happyending @ 3:36 pm and

My story is, I recently found out my husband visits massage parlors and he finds them on myredbook.com. In their forum, someone mentioned the news article from Sacbee.

And while I’m at it, the websites advertise “happy endings” and all of the massage parlors in town. Today I spotted 12 parlors in just 15 minutes. How do they get permits and not get caught? Exchanging money for sex is still illegal right? Or did I miss something…..

I first want to say that I am sorry. This must be very difficult and confusing for you. I was looking at a free Sacramento publication the other day at a coffee shop and noticed a lot of advertisements for massages that sported scantily clad women posturing in provocative poses. It was fairly obvious that some of these advertisements weren’t for legitimate massages. I am very familiar with the website you mentioned and often see these massage parlors inconspicuously tucked away in lower rent business areas in urban environments.

Sacramento Massage Parlors: What took so long?

Letters to the Editor
What took so long?
The Bakersfield Californian | Thursday, Nov 04 2010 05:33 PM
Last Updated Thursday, Nov 04 2010 05:33 PM
Let me get this straight: Until very recently — Nov. 1, to be exact, according to a Los Angeles Times article in the Nov. 2 Californian (”Calif. halts welfare card access at pot shops, massage parlors“) — state-issued welfare debit cards were used, and payment was processed for, purchases made at pot shops, psychics, massage parlors, bingo halls, gun shops, bars, racetracks, tattoo parlors and on cruise ships?
Something tells me this wasn’t news to those in Sacramento. In fact, the Department of Social Services apparently had a website where welfare cardholders could research where their next party was taking place.
Having said that, are we to commend Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for this tightening of the belt at the twilight of his tenure, or should we all wonder what took so long?

Sacramento Massage Parlors: Welfare dollars not allowed to go to pot

Welfare dollars not allowed to go to pot
SACRAMENTO: Welfare recipients in California will no longer be able to use their state-issued debit cards at medical marijuana shops, psychics, massage parlours and many other businesses.
The Schwarzenegger administration wrote to county welfare directors on Monday announcing that ATMs and point-of-sale card readers in such businesses would be removed from the network that accepts California’s Electronic Benefits Transfer cards.
The letter said the cards, which provide access to cash, are meant to help families pay rent and clothe their children. They will also no longer work at bingo halls, gun shops, bars, race tracks, tobacconists and tattoo parlours and on cruise ships.
The Department of Social Services could not say how much welfare money had been spent at or withdrawn from businesses subject to the new ban. It also would not elaborate on how the businesses were chosen. The letter said simply the businesses were ”inconsistent with the intent” of the program.
