The pair met the prostitutes at hotels in San Ramon and throughout the Bay Area, with Butler acting as the john. After knocking on the door, Wielsh would burst in the room, show his police badge and seize the woman’s possessions and cash, Butler said.
In one such incident in the summer of 2010 at Homestead Studio Suites in San Ramon, the pair robbed a prostitute and her madam of more than $10,000, cellphones and car keys, he said.
The private investigator worked with Wielsh in a 2009 incident in Pleasant Hill to stage an arrest of someone whose mother, a client of Butler’s, suspected he was selling drugs. The pair seized thousands of Xanax tablets during the illegal search and seizure, attorneys said.
Butler also pleaded guilty to helping Wielsh in 2009 open an illegal massage parlor where the masseuses provided sexual services. He admitted today to collecting more than $10,000 from the women working there in exchange for protection from Wielsh.

Today, being Friday, the 13th, Don begins by telling us about the superstitions he had in his “morning zoo” days, and how he would make his interns walk under ladders, break mirrors, etc. on this, the most superstitious of days. Mayor Kevin Johnson is in New York today to discuss the arena deal with Commissioner Stern, and to address the possible issues the Maloof’s have with the arena deal they agreed on during the NBA All Star Weekend in Orlando. After talking about another new game Slow Joe has come up with, and the “human Statue Of Liberties” that are seen on the street holding up business signs, Dave explains how to haggle at Asian massage parlors, and Don tells us that his John Wilkes Booth Bobblehead arrived in the mail yesterday, and he pulls it out of the package to show us. He also found an old journal of his son Bart’s from 1994, when he was 9 years old. Don reads a few of its contents, including Bart’s Christmas list, and the gifts he actually got.

Frank/Wired.com
by Kat Bailey
SAN FRANCISCO — The Stockton Tunnel, excavated in 1914, lets San Francisco drivers get between downtown and Fisherman’s Wharf without having to ascend the scarily steep grades of Nob Hill. The tunnel is bordered on the west side by the famous cable cars and on the east by the Chinatown gate, so no tourists need ever walk near it. Accordingly, the tunnel entrance is a dingy block crammed with aging tenements and seedy shops. Junkies tweak out on the sidewalk; a grimy massage parlor called The Green Door advertises “A Touch of Ecstacy.”
Late every Saturday evening, the massage parlor, the tiny taqueria and the assorted other shops all close up, but one is still bustling. A gaggle of young men wearing

Former Contra Costa County Narcotics Enforcement Cmdr. Norman Wielsch and ex-private investigator Christopher Butler stand accused of 17 felonies. The duo, who had been free on bail on previous charges in the case, were re-arrested by FBI agents and locked up without bail as the indictment was handed down in a federal court in San Francisco.
The indictment accuses Wielsh and Butler, both 50, of working together to steal methamphetamine and marijuana from police evidence lockers and selling it back on the street.
The amount of drugs they’re accused of stealing is enough to land them in federal prison for a decade, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The two also pimped out sex workers at a Pleasant Hill massage parlor, the charges say. They are accused of demanding weekly payments from the women in exchange for protection, according to the indictment.
