Sacramento Strip Clubs: $5.3 million bail too high? No way, victim’s family insists

Filed under: Sacramento strip clubs — porsche @ 4:00 am and

Serratos’ attorney, Charles Pacheco, said outside court that his client’s family, too, will give the judge letters, explaining why they want Serratos out. Pacheco said Serratos deals in property and other investments and is no threat.
Pacheco suggested that in lieu of jail, the judge order Serratos to wear an ankle bracelet to alert authorities if he were to drink.
“He needs to run his business and take care of his family,” Pacheco said. “He’s not a flight risk.”
Court papers show that in 1999 he drew prison time for a fight in which he nearly cut off a man’s ear.
In June 2006, Serratos was convicted of driving a boat while drunk. Later that month, he was arrested on a charge of drunken driving behind the wheel of a car leaving Déjà Vu Showgirls, a Stockton strip club, where Serratos had pulled a BB gun on an employee. He was later convicted of those crimes.

Sacramento Strip Clubs: Controlling how people spend their welfare money? Easier said than done

Filed under: Sacramento strip clubs — porsche @ 4:00 am and

The outrage over casinos and strip clubs is understandable. But welfare is an easy whipping boy, and the controversy is likely to undermine support for programs for vulnerable families.
The money involved is not very much, nickels and dimes in a $6.6-billion welfare budget. But it’s our money, and those people are blowing it on blackjack and lap dances. That’s why the $4.8 million doled out to welfare patrons in gambling parlors and strip clubs has created such a buzz in Sacramento.Politicians are up in arms over Times reporter Jack Dolan’s reports that welfare recipients have been using their state-issued debit cards to withdraw cash from ATMs in tribal casinos, poker houses and strip clubs. » Don’t miss a thing. Get breaking news alerts delivered to your inbox. Other states began policing their ATM networks years ago. But in California, until our stories, Electronic Benefit Transfer cards could be used almost anywhere. Now Democrats are promising to make sure all families are spending only “on the children.” Republicans want to …

Lance Armstrong organised a team bonding party attended by strippers: Floyd Landis
Sydney: The three-week Tour de France race was rocked with more controversy involving seven-time champion Lance Armstrong, with claims of personal nature being made against him by former teammate Floyd Landis.
Landis, who was stripped of his 2006 Tour title for failing a dope test and who recently admitted lying about drug use while accusing Armstrong and a number of other cyclists of cheating, told the Wall Street Journal that Armstrong organised a team bonding party attended by strippers at which cocaine was used.
Armstrong’s lawyer in a statement has denied these new claims, and Armstrong himself has recently said that Landis is a habitual liar who had no credibility.
The newspaper article elaborates on alleged doping practices by Armstrong, his teammates and their coterie of trainers and medical staff – from alleged blood doping to the sale of brand new bikes for cash to fund the doping system that Landis claims was in place at their team that was then sponsored by US Postal Services.

Sacramento Strip Clubs: Latest Landis claims ’sour milk’

Filed under: Sacramento strip clubs — porsche @ 12:49 pm and

Landis, who was stripped of the 2006 Tour de France title for doping, gave the Wall Street Journal new details about his use of banned doping products in a story published at the weekend and accused Armstrong and his teammates of receiving blood transfusions during the 2004 Tour.
In a statement sent to Associated Press through his manager before the start of the Tour de France in the Dutch port of Rotterdam, seven-time Tour winner Armstrong described Landis’s claims as “a carton of sour milk: once you take the first sip, you don’t have to drink the rest to know it has all gone bad.”
Landis told the newspaper that some of the bikes provided to Armstrong’s team were sold to help the US Postal team fund his doping program. He also alleged Armstrong organised a team bonding party attended by strippers at which cocaine was used.

Sacramento Strip Clubs: ‘Spartacus’ dominates slippery Prologue

Filed under: Sacramento strip clubs — porsche @ 10:00 pm and

Rotterdam boasts a temperamental ‘micro-climate’ and in the half an hour prior to the start of today’s stage, we saw a downpour, a burst of sunlight, some drizzle, a chilly wind and then a humid patch.
It proceeded to rain steadily for the best part of two hours, before drying up as the big guns set off. This meant that the stage was very much a raffle in terms of who copped the worst of the conditions. Bradley Wiggins and Andy Schleck were just a few who lucked out and posted disappointing times.
Lance Armstrong was in menacing touch today, finishing fourth overall and just shading his chief nemesis Alberto Contador. The last few days have seen him accused of being a drug cheat, with a penchant for strippers and cocaine and a disdain for stop signs and speed limits.

This might sound outlandish, but “motorised doping” has become a hot topic. An unnamed French rider claimed to have heard a “strange noise” rumbling from Cancellara’s bike, while a YouTube video showing how it could be done has 2.6 million views. It is serious enough for the International Cycling Union to have decided to scan bikes randomly before each stage in the 2010 Tour. When asked to respond, Cancellara spluttered: “It’s so stupid, I’m speechless.”
Cancellara also showed his superstitious side, with his intention of riding the whole of the three-week Tour wearing his bib, No13, upside down because he thinks the number might otherwise bring bad luck.
Doping of a more conventional nature was also on the agenda as the Wall Street Journal published further allegations from Floyd Landis, the disgraced 2006 Tour “winner” and former team-mate of Armstrong. His claims range from Armstrong entertaining strippers and personally supplying Landis with testosterone patches in front of his wife, to detailed descriptions of blood transfusions that have the pace and subterfuge of film plots.

Sacramento Strip Clubs: Lance ‘partied with strippers’

It was claimed that four strippers – accompanied by two bouncers – also attended the party and performed a private show.

The newspaper quoted Armstrong’s Austin lawyer, Tim Herman, as saying: ”Mr Armstrong had no contact with strippers or cocaine.”

Sacramento Strip Clubs: As Armstrong’s Final Tour Begins, Landis Attacks Anew: Doping, Cocaine, Bike …

It’s the doping that’s the eye-catching news, but that’s nothing new; Landis has been, depending on your perspective, either truth-telling or braying on that particular subject since May, and Armstrong’s been dealing with accusations of foul play for more than a decade. The breadth and depth of Landis’ account, though, is persuasive: He puts Armstrong at a raucous strip club party with cocaine involved in 2001, says Armstrong gave him testosterone patches in front of his ex-wife in 2002, and paints Armstrong as a willing ringleader in the U.S. Postal Service team’s doping efforts. Landis also details his own doping, which began as a part of Armstrong’s team and entailed tricks like getting packages of blood from a courier disguised as a fan at the end of stages when he devised his own doping program later in his career.

Sacramento Strip Clubs: Lance Armstrong Slimed on Eve of Tour by French Journalists Rupert Murdoch

Speaking of good times, what also struck us as odd was the first accusation thrown at Armstrong — Landis remembering one of his first interactions with the Texan after becoming his teammate, a party involving strippers and blow.
Now, if you have followed Lance Armstrong for any length of time, and have gotten to know him and his personality, there’s one thing you know about him: he’s no boring family man. I think I knew his beer preference (Shiner Bock) before I knew how many races he’d won. He’s the kind of guy who gives himself a nickname like “Juan Pelota” — a play on “one ball,” a reference to losing a testicle in his cancer fight. And we’ve all read about his skirt chasing from one end of the earth to the other. (Still not sure to think about the Olsen twin story, by the way.)
Anyway, so when the Journal tries to set up the stripper tale this way…
But the Journa …
