On Thursday Judge Colleen Nichols sentenced Chad Richard Mowry, who was 26 when he was arrested in July, to 240 days in jail, five years of formal probation and a $540 fine, according to Art Campos, spokesman for the Placer County District Attorney’s Office.
As part of his probation Mowry must submit to DNA testing and drug and alcohol testing, maintain employment, stay in California, not harass his victim, and submit to search and seizure. Mowry also can’t possess any kind of drugs or paraphernalia without a prescription, Campos said.
According to Lisa Botwinik, the prosecutor on the case, Mowry has to attend a year-long drug treatment program.
Mowry pleaded no contest in January to residential burglary and impersonating a public officer, both felonies.
Mowry allegedly told an Auburn woman he knew prostitution was going on in her home and as a law enforcement official, he could make any potential charges go away.
Auburn police said while male strippers were visiting the woman’s home, there was no evidence that prostitution was taking place.
