Deputy Has Close Call When Prostitution Sting Turns Violent
An undercover officer with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department has a close call Tuesday night, when the arrest of a man allegedly patronizing a prostitute ended in gunfire.
Vice officers were conducting a prostitution sting at the National 9 Inn on Stockton Boulevard when the shooting occurred. According to investigators, a struggle ensued when deputies attempted to arrest Roosevelt Holland, and a shot was fired. The bullet passed through the deputy’s pants leg without striking him.
Officers were able to disarm Holland and take him into custody. He’ll now face a variety of charges including attempted murder of a peace officer.
No one was injured during the struggle and subsequent arrest.
