Sacramento Adult Entertainment: Jury trial to go ahead
Deputy Public Defender Darby Williams told Judge William C. Harrison that the purported victim of a beating and forced prostitution case reported four months ago had recently recanted statements that she made against pimping and assault defendant Sean Grant. The 23-year-old victim, Williams added, also claimed that the injuries she suffered actually were the result of a fight she’d had with another woman.
Williams asked that the District Attorney’s Office further investigate the woman’s statements and requested that her client be released, possibly under house arrest, until additional investigation could be conducted. Grant has been held at Solano County Jail in Fairfield on $150,000 bail since his arrest in March.

Grant faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, pimping, false imprisonment, causing corporal injury to a cohabitant and trying to dissuade a witness in connection with an alleged attack at a Peabody Road apartment complex on March 12.
