Because men dress for practicality, some of the things women do, such as barhop in 5-inch heels, perplexes them. “I do see where guys might scratch their heads at why we wear stilettos or put on makeup before the gym,” she said. “Men are justified sometimes.”
There is plenty that confuses Joey Combs of Danville, Calif., about what women wear.
He doesn’t like how some girls try too hard, he said. That includes overdoing the jewelry or sporting loud hosiery. An appealing, feminine look is “a nice dress, matching earrings and some shoes,” Combs said. “Not too formal. Even a T-shirt and jeans. I don’t like big hoop earrings, especially with stilettos. It reminds me of prostitutes in ’80s cop movies. Oh, and tons of makeup. I hate that.”
