Roseville woman and boyfriend charged with pimping teen runaway
ROSEVILLE, CA – A Roseville couple was arraigned Tuesday afternoon on charges they took in a teenage runaway and forced her to commit sex acts.
Syla Debra Thongsy, 21, is suspected of keeping the 15-year-old runaway at her Roseville home for almost two weeks and transporting the girl to Sacramento to work as a prostitute, said Roseville Police Department spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther.
After nearly two weeks at Thongsy’s Roseville home and being told she could not leave, the teen managed to call a relative who picked her up and brought her back home to Sacramento, Gunther said. The girl’s family then called Roseville police.
Thongsy and live-in boyfriend Stephen Eugene Putnam, 45, were charged with felony pimping and communicating with a minor with intent to commit an unlawful offense, said Placer County district attorney spokesman Art Campos. Putnam was also charged with felony lewd and lascivious acts with a minor.
