Sacramento Strip Clubs: Gold Beach City Council acts with sense of urgency: Zoning, transient tax …
There was a sense of urgency in the air as the Gold Beach City Council dealt with everything from comprehensive zoning, urban renewal, police department purchases, and revisions to the transient tax ordinance.
Comprehensive zoning
The Gold Beach Planning Commission and the County planning staff has recommended that the Council adopt revisions to the zoning ordinance to comply with changes in the law.
Councilman Larry Brennan, however, was concerned because the proposed comprehensive plan does not provide for zoning prohibitions for such things as pawn shops, adult book stores, and strip clubs. Brennan said he ran for City Council because at the time there was a proposal for a pawn shop at the south beach. Brennan also said he wanted to see the code prohibit adult entertainment near the high school.
